The Online facility of E-District , which is run by the Government of Uttar Pradesh would be connected with important departments of 72 Districts by the end of this Month. Under this scheme 35 types of Certificates related to 9 Department would be issued on Computer by the Digital Signature of the officials. The important departments which it covers are Revenue, Medical and Health, Social Welfare, Panchayatiraj, Rural Development, Labour, etc. Some of the important certificates which would be issued are Birth / Death Certificate, Domicile Certificate, Backward / Scheduled Caste/ Schedule Tribe Certificate, Old Age Pension,/Widow’s Pension Certificate, etc. For more information visit the official website – http://edistrict.up.nic.in/main.html
This project of E-District was started in UP state with the help of Centre in 2008. Through this only 23 types of certificates were issued, now there would be 35 types of certificates. To start the same project in rest of the districts, state is going to establish “State Portal E Farmers and State Services Delivery Gateway” with the help of NIC( National Information Centre).
